"Bridges Between Coasts" is a heartfelt painting by Carrie Bergey about Buffalo and San Francisco that captures the essence of connection and distance in a bi-coastal relationship, spanning from Buffalo to San Francisco. With the symbolic Buffalo, the artwork weaves elements of the two cities—Buffalo's iconic architecture and industrial roots merging with San Francisco's rolling hills and Golden Gate Bridge. Through a dynamic interplay of deep textures in white, the piece evokes both the longing and the bond that unites these distant places. "Bridges Between Coasts" is a powerful metaphor for the resilience of relationships, celebrating the beauty of connection across miles and landscapes.
This piece is close to my heart, for it began my journey back to art --- commissioned by a dear friend, Michael Thompson.
